Jasper Abels
Jasper Abels is a Dutch fashion photographer and art director.
His work has featured in magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar UK/ NL, Mirror Mirror, Marie Claire UK/NL and Man About Town. He has also created images for brands such as Schiaparelli and Miu Miu; and photographed international actors like Maisie Williams, Numan Acar, Carice van Houten and Josh O’Connor. Abels has worked with art museums, including the Rijksmuseum.
Abels’ imagery portrays a fusion between photography and art. “Death, heaven, earth, his love for animals and fairy tales play an important role in his work. Colorful, minimalistic and elegant, yet with a modern flair. His techniques have resulted in creating unique and highly recognizable images”. References to the Dutch masters painters, who captured landscapes and the ‘the Dutch light’ over the 17th century, can equally be found on Abels’ work. Vice ID called Jasper Abels “the Dutch Andy Warhol”.
